Basketball City at Basketball City

Phone: 718-786-4242

Basketball City ("BBC") designs, develops and operates first-class recreational basketball facilities operating in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Irvine, LA and New York. With a wide array of programming, Basketball City provides a unique service and venue to the communities it serves. BBC’s programs include (i) corporate leagues and team-building events, (ii) youth basketball instruction, camps, leagues, clinics, and tournaments (iii) non-profit fundraisers and (iv) a variety of special events.

Currently, two BBC locations are in operation: in New York City (opened in 1997) and in downtown Boston (opened in 2000), opposite the TD Banknorth Garden. A new 64,000 sq ft "state of the art" facility on the east side of Manhattan and a 50,000 sq ft facility in downtown Toronto (in partnership with Steve Nash’s Foundation) will be operational in 2008. All BBC's facilities will contain six (6) full-size basketball courts that also convert to volleyball courts. New locations are being evaluated in several additional markets including Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, etc.

Programs

BBC runs a variety of corporate, youth, non-profit and special event programming. The business model consists of running the biggest and best adult corporate leagues, as well as developing and operating significant youth programs, non-profit and community outreach events. At BBC, there are
three main philosophies:

1) Bring the professional experience to the amateur
2) Develop customers for life
3) Give back to the communities we serve

Corporate Programs

Over 1,500 corporations and 500,000 people participate in BBC programming and events annually. Our successful TV / Advertising Basketball League is completing its fifth season in the winter of 2007-08. The League has grown to 30 teams in New York, and we have started divisions in Boston, Chicago and LA. Teams include: ABC, CBS, Carat, Chiat Day, Discovery, ESPN, ESPN Magazine, EuroRSCG, Fox, Fox News, Game Show Network, Horizon, McCann, Mediacom, Mediaedge:cia, MediaVest, Mindshare, MPG, MTV, NBA, NBC, Ogilvy & Mather, OMD, The WB, Time Warner, Turner, Universal, Univision, Weiden & Kennedy and Zenith Media.

Basketball City's year-round corporate leagues provide company employees with a first-class basketball experience that builds both teamwork and camaraderie. The leagues host approximately 1,000 teams annually and are the pre-eminent leagues in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Irvine, LA and New York. Participating teams/companies include the biggest firms in those cities.

Basketball City has also implemented a very successful corporate bonding and team building program. Companies such as Ernst & Young, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, and PriceWaterhouseCoopers have taken advantage of this great program.

Youth Programs

Through and with BBC's partnership with the Knicks and Celtics, Basketball City has created a prototype youth league that combines instruction and competitive games. The Youth Development League ("YDL") is the most comprehensive youth instruction basketball program in New York and Boston. The YDL focuses on teaching the fundamentals of the game in a fun and competitive environment and is dedicated to small group instruction and competitive games.

BBC's summer camp schedule runs non-stop from June to September and includes the biggest names in basketball. Current and former camps include New York Knicks (multiple weeks), Boston Celtics (multiple weeks), New York Liberty, Stephon Marbury, Ben Gordon, Lamar Odom, Paul Pierce, Walt "Clyde" Frazier, etc. Without question, these are the best camps in all of New York and Boston.

Basketball City is also home court for over 50 public and private high teams. Due to the lack of space at their own schools Basketball City started a program whereby 16 local New York City Public High Schools (16 boy's teams, 14 girl's teams and 4 Junior Varsity teams) play all home games and some practice sessions at Basketball City at no cost to the schools. The schools buy their court time by performing community service.

BBC also runs a series of basketball clinics throughout the year. These clinics include participation from the Knicks, Celtics, Nets and their players, as well as world renowned shooting instructor Dave Hopla. Through its partnership with the Nets, BBC has run over 20 free Nets clinics throughout Brooklyn.

BBC hosts several AAU and Travel Team tournaments throughout the year. Teams travel from across the northeast and across the country to the New York and Boston facilities to test their skills against the best competition. BBC hosts hundreds of teams from around the country each year.

Non-profit Programs

BBC has partnered with various non-profit organizations (American Cancer Society, Alzheimer's, Autism, Boomer Esiason Foundation, Boy's Club, Canavan Disease, Cancer Care, Children's Aid Society, City Year, Cystic Fibrosis, Diabetes & Heart Disease, Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation, Easter Seals, Muscular Dystrophy, Lymphoma & Leukemia Society, NYFD, PAL, Special Olympics, Steppingstone Foundation, TJ Martel for Leukemia, Cancer & Aids Research, Urban Dove, Youth Inc., UJA, etc.) to help raise over $8.5 million dollars.
