Immerse yourself in writing memoir at the Adirondack Mountain Writers' Retreat, August 20-23, 2009, in the little mountain town of Thurman, NY, just a few miles from Lake George Village, but light years different. Participate as a commuter (men and women) or stay in residence (women only, due to the need to share rooms) for daily writing sessions, readings, peer critique sessions and workshops with poet/author/teacher Irene Sherlock. Schedule a private consultation with Irene Sherlock. This retreat is set in a private log cabin with "great camp" ambiance, campfires, hiking trails. Hearty meals provided. Commuters entitled to all except breakfast and lodging. Please email to indicate your interest. Details of the 2009 retreat will be posted online over the winter.

This retreat occurs for a few days each summer.

Essential Information
Beaver Meadow Lodge, the retreat site, is a private dwelling, open by appointment only. It is also the base of operations for New York Outdoor Adventures and Beaver Meadow Guide Service. The lodge is eccentric, and the half-mile private road to it is sometimes not accessible by conventional vehicles, depending upon weather conditions and beaver activity.

What to Wear
Casual, comfortable clothing is the order of the day. Wear layers for changeable mountain weather, and bring your favorite insect repellent.
