Upper Hudson Region

Enjoy a leisurely self-guided art walk featuring four exhibits throughout downtown Albany. Sculpture in the Streets Public Art Exhibition: 20 large-scale contemporary sculptures created by leading regional artists adorn prominent outdoor locations. Hudson River Way: A series of original trompe l’oeil paintings illustrate Albany’s history along the magnificent walkway connecting downtown Albany to the Hudson River. Wonders of the Circus: A mixed media exhibit showcases work by award winning artists challenged by disabilities such as autism, mental retardation, cerebral palsy, neurological impairment and traumatic brain injuries. Albany Center Gallery: Contemporary works by regional artists Tatana Kellner, a photographer and printmaker, and Laura Von Rosk, a landscape painter. (9/27 only). A tour packet and maps are available at the Albany Heritage Area Visitors Center.

Directions: I-87 (NYS Thruway) to Exit 23 (Albany) to I-787 north to Exit 4B (Downtown Albany); at foot of exit ramp, follow signs for Clinton Ave.; at foot of Clinton Ave. ramp, R onto B’way; Visitors Center on immediate right. Parking: go past Visitors Center to 1st R onto Spencer St.; follow to end and signs for Visitor Center Parking. Paid parking in effect 24 hrs. per day, Mon-Sat. Short term parking reimbursed with receipt at Visitors Center.
