The Jacques Marchais Museum of Tibetan Art was founded in 1945 to present the art and culture of Tibet and the Himalayan region to a wider public. The Museum is open to the public every Wednesday - Sunday from 1:00PM - 5:00PM.
The current exhibit, "From Staten Island to Shangri-La: The Collecting Life of Jacques Marchais," presents the history of the Museum's founder, Jacques Marchais, and details her role as a popularizer of Tibetan art and culture in the early 20th century.
Directions from Manhattan: Take the Staten Island Ferry from Whitehall Terminal. Once on the Staten Island side, take the S74 bus to Lighthouse Avenue. Walk up the hill. The museum is 338 Lighthouse Avenue
